allos lake

The largest natural high altitude lake in Europe (2228 meters).
The lake is located in a cirque formed by the glaciers’ thaw in the quaternary era.
The lake water is essentially from melting snow and autumn rains.

Access to the lake.
On foot from allos village, you need about 6 hours return.
On foot from the Cluite car park, you need about 5 hours return.
You cal also go by car to the Laus car park, then you need about 1h30 for an easy (return) walk.

The road to go to the Laus car park is opened only from june 15th till october 15th.
During the summer the Laus car park is open between 9am to 5pm (its access is possible only according to the spaces available) the cost is 5€ per car and 2€ for motorbike. Outside these dates the access is free.
